Examining the level of achievement of the goals of Arabic language education in Iranian schools from the point of view of experts, focusing on the content of textbooks

Abstract

Educational goals are the most important elements of writing educational books, and educational content is written to achieve these goals. One of the most important educational goals of Arabic textbooks is to understand the Qur'an and simple religious texts. Considering that more than 7 years have passed since the author's new Arabic books were written, a research is necessary to investigate the success rate of these books in realizing the goals of teaching Arabic in schools. In this research, we are trying to examine Arabic textbooks using the survey method and interview tool to find out the degree of compatibility of Arabic educational content with educational goals and the degree of achievement of its goals. Data collection has been done with a fully structured interview. The research community includes professors of Arabic language and literature, and purposeful sampling includes ten Arabic language experts who are familiar with the new Arabic textbooks authored by al-Talif. The findings of the research show that 63% of people evaluated the suitability of the Arabic educational content with the educational goals included in the Arabic curriculum as "weak" and 52% of the people evaluated the success rate of the content in achieving the educational goals as "low". Part of the factors of this lack of success is related to the content and another part is related to external factors affecting teaching.
