Abstract
The foundation of human communication with others is based on language. Language teaching in schools is a suitable platform for strengthening the four language skills and communication ability. In addition to the national curriculum, it is responsible for designing, compiling, implementing and evaluating curricula at the national and local levels, in order to convey educational concepts to students at different levels based on the philosophy of Islamic education. The approach of the Arabic curriculum guide for developing language skills in order to strengthen the understanding of religious texts is stated. In this research, using the method of content analysis of the book "Arabic Language of the Qur'an" for the seventh grade, the level of its compliance with the goals of the Arabic curriculum on the one hand and with the criteria of the communication approach has been evaluated on the other hand. The findings indicate that the goals of the exercises are limited to strengthening translation, rules, vocabulary, reading comprehension, and shortened questions and answers. In total, 34% are translation, 22% are grammar, 18% are vocabulary, 14% are reading comprehension and 12% are short questions and answers without context. As a result, the exercises of the book "Arabic Language of the Qur'an" of the seventh grade were designed in line with the national curriculum, and the total of 50 exercises of the book could not cover the criteria of the communication approach to strengthen the communication ability and the four language skills.
