Abstract

Although the frequency of the word "خلف" and its derivatives in the Holy Qur'an is 127 cases, but so far it has not been studied semantically as a coherent method in analyzing Qur'anic concepts. The present article, with a descriptive-analytical method, intends to identify this word in dictionaries in a systematic process and then to analyze and retrieve the semantic network of the posterior material with a comprehensive view of the entire text of the Qur'an, relying on companion relations. According to the research findings, posterior matter has three semantic principles: first, that one thing follows another and replaces it, second, it means back (front) and third, it means change. This word also comes in the Holy Quran with several meanings such as succession, backwardness, future, opposite, breaking the promise, disagreeing and coming and going day and night, and all these concepts are related to the three mentioned semantic principles. Also, by descriptive study of the words that are in the horizontal axis of companionship with the derivatives of the material behind, the following semantic components were obtained: creation of a successor by God, divine truths and scriptures revealed by God from examples of differences among disbelieving groups, superiority Man's superiority over other beings through the granting of succession on earth by God, the judgment of the disbelievers by God Almighty on the Day of Judgment, the creation of dichotomy by the disbelieving groups, the falsity of the fulfillment of the promise by God Almighty and the acknowledgment of God's true ownership of To the blessings.
